The redevelopment of the Hospital will result in contemporary facilities improving both patient amenity and operational efficiency.
Existing facilities will be refurbished and a contemporary four-storey extension added, allowing for the expansion of existing wards, new retail facilities and additional lifts.
All newly refurbished wards will comprise single ensuited rooms.
The entry, exit and service roads will be improved to enhance traffic flow and create a safer environment for pedestrians.
The top level of the Hospital (level 8) will be refurbished to make way for modern consulting rooms with superb river views.
The Hospital's facade will be refreshed.
Provision will be made for an upgraded and expanded radiology service.
The appointed architects are Peddle Thorpe who have a wealth of experience in health care planning and architecture and have completed a significant number of hospital projects in Queensland including The Mater and Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital.
